How Hard Is Pole Dancing? Pole Dancing FAQs

Pole dancing can be difficult for beginners who do not have a history of flexibility, muscle engagement, and mimicking movements. Pole tricks like Ayesha, Superman, Jade split, pole split, and more are extremely detailed and may be harder to master.

However, learning the ropes is often easier than you imagine. You can quickly learn the basics and proceed through the ranks in three to six months of active pole dancing.

As a beginner, it’s often harder to learn pole dancing on your own without a structured curriculum. I recommend enrolling in a pole dance class near you to learn the basics and receive instructor feedback (at least in the formative stages of your learning). You can also purchase a home pole to practice further and build on what’s been taught at your pole studio.
